Get a Garden for Your Life

OK, you’ve got a life. But only one. As someone once said, ‘This ain’t a rehearsal’. We wish to live in surroundings that match our lifestyles, needs, aspirations and sense of identity – and that includes the garden.

You want things that are right for you. That’s why we look and listen when we meet and work with you. Maybe you’re not sure what your ideal garden looks like. So we’ll talk to you about it in order that we are both clear what you want to achieve. Then we’ll design and build it. Perhaps you do have clear ideas. Then we’ll make them reality.

Here are some garden themes that should help your thinking:

You may want the garden to be a social space for family gatherings, alfresco lunches and dinner parties or time with friends. Plenty of hard landscape and seating – lighting – easy maintenance – barbecue – heater.
So, you have a busy life and want the garden to be a place to escape the rush, pressures and stresses of life and to relax and think. A feeling of intimacy – lush foliage – muted colours – the sound of water – fragrant plants – an enclosed space, your space.
You’ve got young children so the garden has to be for everyone. A lawn as a play space – hard landscape for alfresco life – perhaps a veg. patch – storage space – a backdrop of low maintenance planting.
You may be adventurous and want the garden to reflect this. You may want the garden to remind you of a holiday destination or you may want to try the unexpected in a challenging environment. Could be a bold tropical looking garden – a bright Mediterranean look – a Japanese style.
“It’s a garden Jim, but not as we know it”. For people who are confident with and revel in new technology then a “technology garden” may be the answer. Minimalist and futuristic – materials such as glass, stainless steel, aluminium – built in sound system – plasma screen – automatic watering and lighting systems – robotic mower – bold architectural plants.

Your ideal garden may be some combination of any of the above. For example you might have a pace for quiet reflection in one part of a family garden or lush exotic planting in a garden for socialising. Low maintenance can be part of all of them. It’s YOUR garden.
